Arcelor Mittal (Dofasco) has applied for permission to delay meeting the province's new air quality standards. I guess this is a picture of why. Rather ironic since Saturday Oct 24 was a worldwide day of action requesting governments to set 350 particles per million as the goal in reducing carbon content in our air.

When Winds Gust ...





It was quite a storm which rolled through our city Friday evening. Here's what those winds whipped up and dumped on the Beach Strip. Residents were wiping grey dust from food and surfaces even inside their homes. Analysis is still being done, but so far there are indications that the toxic particulate levels in the cloud were exponentially higher than the provincial standard.
